“Let’s start thinking of each other as Americans first.”

On January 29, 2010, Mr. Obama tried to end the polarization of the political process by appealing to both voters and politicians to be kinder, and more gentle in pointing out what losers the other is with his plea “Let’s start thinking of each other as Americans first.”

What a load of crap…
“Nothing that human beings do will be perfect,”Obama, said at a town hall at the University of Tampa, accompanied by Mr. Biden. (I would have loved to hear what Joe had to say in the Presidents ear that day, maybe something like “Fuck them, feed them fish-heads!)“But we shouldn’t assume that the other side is either heartless or doesn’t care about sick people, or is some socialist/communist who’s trying to take over the health care system,” the president said. “We start getting into these caricatures.”

Now, on August 9, the White House re-election machine has developed a new take on this kinder- gentler message. Make it personal.

“Unless things change and Obama can run on accomplishments, he will have to kill Romney,”

Nice, what would happen if anybody else made a statement like that? Imagine Donald Trump saying it, you can almost see the army of IRS agents fast roping onto Trump Tower. Giuliani… Fuggedaboutit!
